Where Delaware's money goes

Every dollar the State of Delaware actually paid out in a fiscal year — by department, by category, and to which vendors. Pulled directly from the state's public Online Checkbook.

How to read this. These are actual disbursements — checks the state wrote — taken from Delaware's own public Online Checkbook, shown without interpretation. They are not the budgeted or appropriated amounts (that side is published only as PDFs by the Office of Management and Budget). Large totals are often federal-to-state pass-through programs: most of the Department of Health and Social Services figure, for example, is Medicaid, administered through vendors like Gainwell Technologies. First State Lens adds no opinion on whether any spending is right or wrong. We show you the data; you decide.
